Flexible Packaging Made from Seaweed

90% of manufactured plastic is not being recycled and ends up as microplastic in the environment.

In collaboration with ETH and FHNW, the HSG-spinoff Noriware developed a seaweed-based packaging film that is made entirely of natural materials.

The growth of the raw material seaweed creates a negative carbon footprint, with the final product being home-compostable within a revolutionary time and therefore leaving no residual waste behind.

Das HSG-Spinoff Noriware hat in Zusammenarbeit mit der ETH und der FHNW eine Verpackungsfolie auf Seegrasbasis entwickelt, die komplett aus natürlichen Materialien besteht.

Das Wachstum des Rohstoffs Seegras hat einen negativen CO2-Fussabdruck, das Endprodukt ist innerhalb einer revolutionären Zeit zu Hause kompostierbar und hinterlässt somit keinen Restmüll.

En collaboration avec l’EPF et la FHNW, la spin-off de l’Université de Saint-Gall Noriware a mis au point un film d’emballage à base d’algues, entièrement constitué de matériaux naturels.

L’empreinte carbone liée à la croissance de la matière première qu’est l’algue est négative, le produit final est compostable à domicile en un temps record et ne laisse donc aucun déchet résiduel derrière lui.
